  • Simple Rhymes & Interactive games

  • Reading a variety of books (wordless, picture, rhymes) 

  • You will receive a personal account to creative curriculum where you can access: checkpoints, observations, planning, emails and more

  • Each Parent receives an account with Shutterfly to receive weekly photo albums uploaded to Shutterfly of their child and their classroom

  • The following curriculum is offered the substantial portion of the day.

  • Minimum of 50% of materials rotated monthly

  • Sand & Water Tables, Painting Easel and Sensory Tables are offered daily

  • Language and materials challenge children to learn more & less / big & small

  • See and touch different shapes, sizes, colors & patterns

  • Build number awareness using objects in the environment

  • Read books about counting and shapes

Social Studies Examples (Daily)

7:00-8:15- Arrival/Breakfast/Child Choice Centers

 

The children will arrive and are greeted by the classroom teacher. Parents are responsible for packing breakfast for children. Children who are not eating breakfast will be offered child choice free play centers in all interest areas. These include: quiet corner, building area, table toys, dramatic play, and fine motor manipulatives. Diaper changes begin at 8:00. Walker-Transition and Preschool Transition will transition to their classrooms by 8:15.

 

8:30-8:40- Story Time & Introduce Teacher Directed Activity

 

Children will gather on the carpet to discuss what the Teacher Directed Activity will be that day. The Teacher will read a story, which relates to the theme, and will introduce centers, including at least one teacher directed center, for children to choose.

 

8:45-9:15- Teacher Directed Activity & Teacher Directed/Child Choice Centers

 

An activity based on the theme in a learning area of science, math, art, cooking, or literacy will be provided daily. This is an activity that may require small group/direct teacher attention and supervision. Refer to classroom lesson plans for more details on the activity. Centers will be available, encouraging the students to use their imagination in centers such as from Dramatic Play, Music & Musical Instruments, Block Play, Library and Quiet Corner, Table Manipulatives, Sand/Water Table (offered daily), Puzzles, and Transportation. These centers will offer specific materials, which align with our Infant and Toddler themes, and include opportunities for intentional teaching and small group play.

 

9:30-9:45- Snack

 

Children will be encouraged to serve and eat snack independently. Our school wide snack menu is posted on the “Parents Corner” bulletin board and is updated monthly.

 

9:50-10:00- Circle Time

 

Children will gather on the carpet for circle time. Circle time begins with by welcoming each child to school with a song. The children will sing “ABC’s” and count to 10 daily. Using song and the classroom calendar, the children will discuss the days of the week describe the weather.  Finally, the Teacher will use our Toddler color book to discuss colors and shape. They will introduce and build sign language skills with color identification and basic social skills.

 

10:00-10:30- Child Choice Centers/Diaper Changes

 

Centers will be available, encouraging the students to use their imagination in centers such as from Dramatic Play, Music & Musical Instruments, Block Play, Library and Quiet Corner, Table Manipulatives, Sand/Water Table, Puzzles, and Transportation. These centers will be rotated to provide materials that are chosen by the children and include opportunities for intentional teaching and small group play.

 

10:40-11:30- Outdoor Activities, 11:00-11:30 Fellowship Hall

 

Weather permitting, children will partake outside play. They are offered age appropriate gross motor toys and equipment, along with building materials, table toys, dramatic play, art materials, sand/water play, and fine motor manipulatives. If weather not permitting, children will attend gross motor play in Fellowship Hall. Gross motor play includes: parachute play, stepping stones, mats, soft climbing toys, balls, and more.

 

11:30-11:40- Transition

Children will transition inside, wash hands, and join on the carpet for Music and Movement.

 

11:40-11:55- Music and Movement

 

Teacher will provide 3 structured Music and Movement activities for children, including a flannel board, finger play, and nursery rhyme. Children will begin washing hands one by one for lunch. By 11:55, children will begin washing hands, one by one, and transition to lunch.

 

12:00-2:30- Lunch/Diaper Changes/Nap

 

Children are encouraged to begin feeding themselves with utensils or finger foods. Teachers sit with children during lunch to assist any needs. As children are finishing lunch, nap time cots are laid in the classroom and diaper changes begin. Teachers will provide calming music for nap. If children wake from nap earlier than scheduled, they will be provided a quiet activity.

 

2:30-3:15 Diaper Changes/Child Choice Centers

 

Centers will be available, encouraging the students to use their imagination in centers such as from Dramatic Play, Music & Musical Instruments, Block Play, Library and Quiet Corner, Table Manipulatives, Puzzles, and Transportation. These centers will be rotated to provide materials that are chosen by the children and include opportunities for intentional teaching and small group play. Diaper changes occur during child choice centers.

 

3:20-3:35- Music and Movement

Teacher will provide 2 nursery rhymes and 2 finger plays for children on the carpet.

 

3:45-4:00- Snack

 

Children will be encouraged to serve and eat snack independently. Our school wide snack menu is posted on the “Parents Corner” bulletin board and is updated monthly.

 

4:00-4:15 Children will transition outside for gross motor afternoon play.

 

4:15-5:15- Outdoor Activities

 

Weather permitting, children will partake outside play. They are offered age appropriate gross motor toys and equipment, along with building materials, table toys, dramatic play, art materials, sand/water play, and fine motor manipulatives.

 

5:15-6:00- Child Choice Centers/Departure

 

Centers will be available, encouraging the students to use their imagination in centers such as from Dramatic Play, Music & Musical Instruments, Block Play, Library and Quiet Corner, Table Manipulatives, Puzzles, and Transportation. These centers will be rotated to provide materials that are chosen by the children and include opportunities for intentional teaching and small group play. Children will begin to depart for the day.
