HiMama!

HiMama! is used by our educators to record activities and updates throughout the day. Everything from naps to snacks, it will provide you with a complete history of your child’s experience in our program with photos stored safely and securely in a journal format.

Whether it be at work, home, or on the go through HiMama!’s mobile apps, you’ll receive real-time updates on your child’s activities to your email and smartphone.
 

Curriculum

Our curriculum is a flexible framework that has evolved from over 35 years of experience and knowledge that our staff brings to the classrooms. Happy well-adjusted children are eager to learn. We encourage children to explore, investigate, problem solve, create and develop ideas individually and in small groups. From infancy through school age, children enjoy interesting activities in art, music, dance, whole language, reading, math, literacy, science, social studies and health and safety. The spacious playgrounds encourage balance, coordination, climbing, creative play, gardening, woodworking, and team sports as the children grow and develop. The curriculum we implement uses an environmentally based approach and focuses on the importance of the role of the teacher in connecting content, intentional teaching, and for the acquired learning of your child. There are 21 learning objectives for infants & toddlers and 50 learning objectives for ages 3-5.

  • Each parent receives an account with Shutterfly to receive weekly photo albums uploaded to Shutterfly of their child and their classroom
  • Minimum of 50% of materials rotated monthly
  • Sand & Water Tables, Painting Easel and Sensory Tables are offered daily
     

Developmental Screenings

Ages and Stages is a developmental screening tool we complete on all new children within 45 days of enrollment. Your child will be tested in 5 areas:

  • Communication

  • Gross motor skills

  • Fine motor skills

  • Problem solving

  • Personal/social life


Regular Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent teacher conferences are held twice a year to review your child’s development. During the meeting with your child’s teacher the following is discussed:

  • Personal connections
  • Feelings about self
  • Relationships with other children
  • Understanding and communicating
  • Exploration and problem solving
  • Movement and coordination.
     

Work Sampling Continually Updates Your Child's Assessment

The Work Sampling System offers performance assessments for children from ages infant through 6 years old. Using documentation and assessment, the Work Sampling System looks at your child's skills, knowledge, behavior, and accomplishments in a variety of curriculum areas. The goal is always to foster teaching and learning.
